Our suppliers (of services and advice) are integral to the successful provision of good customer service.
We seek to work with them to share knowledge and best practice to help deliver good performance.
We are committed to working with our suppliers to ensure that they manage their operations in line
with our business principles and values. The Supplier Charter details the principles, values and expectations
that underpin our working relationship.
The Portman Estate commits to:
- Providing a safe environment
- Delivering flexible alternatives to satisfy requirements
- Providing clear, fair procurement methods and developing long term relationships
- Consulting with, listening to and acting on suppliers’ suggestions for continuous improvement
- Payment in accordance with agreed terms
- A conciliatory approach to dispute resolution
- Recognition of excellent supplier performance through repeat business opportunities.
The Portman Estate expects suppliers to:
- Provide a safe and competent workforce employed in accordance with industry best practice
- Incorporate safety into design and work to approved method statements and risk assessments
- Submit complete tenders on the agreed dates
- Deliver to the agreed specification, on time and to agreed cost
- Cooperate with The Portman Estate and the supply partners
- Commit to and participate in continuous improvement
- Apply the principles of this charter fairly and consistently
- Take a conciliatory approach to dispute resolution
- Move towards integration of their management and information systems with The Portman Estate
- Commit to and apply The Portman Estate values
