Home House in Portman Square is now a high profile private members club, Home House is one of the finest 18th century town houses in London and has recently been imaginatively restored to recreate the atmosphere of an opulent private residence.
The house has a fascinating history. Commisioned by Elizabeth Countess of Home in1773, the initial design was conceived by James Wyatt. His 'dilatory conduct' led to his dismissal and the house was completed by his great rival, Robert Adam. It is described as the finest remaining example of the London town house created by Adam.
